VirusProtectPro, a virus protection program, reports that it has successfully removed four instances of malicious software from your computer. VirusProtectPro installed the malware several hours earlier, then sent a warning message that your system was indeed infected with malware, and offered their malware removal survice for $19.95. This charge will automatically recur at the end of each month, unless you call their customer service line and cancel the service. You bought the service, and the malware was removed.
In approximately five days, you will receive a new message that you have new malware of a different type than the kind that was removed today. To remove this new strain, you will need to pay for the “plus” service, which is an additional $9.95. You will pay for this service, and this cycle will repeat itself indefinitely.
